A-State falls to Generals

The Alfred State College men's basketball team couldn't battle out of an early hole and fell 67-59 to Herkimer County CC on Tuesday evening.  The Pioneers fall to 6-3 on the season.

Jimmie Dillard (Gates Chili) led the Blue and Gold with 16 points while Cerrone Jackson (Forrest Hills) finished with 13.  Jerome Hall (Cicero North Syracuse) added 12 points.

The Generals jumped out to a 9-2 lead early on and held a 33-23 lead at halftime.  ASC cut the lead to four in the final minute but could never get any closer.

A-State returns to action on Saturday in the annual Alfred State Tournament.  The Pioneers take on Jefferson CC at 7 p.m. after Dean (MA) College battles Rockland CC at 5 p.m. The consolation and championship game will take place on Sunday at Noon and 2 p.m.
