Pioneers down Jamestown

The Alfred State College wrestling team evened up their dual match record with an easy 42-12 victory over Jamestown CC in their home opener on Saturday.  The Pioneers are now 1-1 on the season in WNYAC action.

Billy Drake (Hornell) earned the lone pin on the night for the Pioneers.  He pinned Randy Pike in 1:20 in the heavyweight match.  Gallaway Longenecker (Manheim, PA) earned a 21-7 victory at 133 lbs., Scott Ray (Hornell) won 15-3 at 157 lbs, and Jordan Hughson (Holley) won 12-1 at 184 lbs. 

Cory Merchant (Cobleskill-Richmondville), Devin Hennessey (Bridgewater-Raynham, MA), and Aaron Parks (Hornell) earned forfeit wins.

The Pioneers travel to Niagara CCC on November 30 for the annual Niagara Duals before competing in the Niagara Open on December 1.
