McLaughlin & Williamson Named Athletes of the Week

Tiffany McLaughlinZak WilliamsonTiffany McLaughlin (Wellsville) and Zak Williamson (Rocky Point) have been named the Alfred State College athletes of the week. 

McLaughlin averaged 22 points in three games for the Lady Pioneers this week.  She scored 21 versus Broome, 28 versus Corning, and recorded a double-double 17 points and 12 rebounds versus Lakeland CC.  On the week she also averaged 7.3 rebounds and 4 assists per game.

Williamson earned NJCAA Division III All-American honors for the second year in a row with a 6th place finish at the National Championships on Saturday.  Williamson finished the 8K race in 28:09.96.  With the solid run he earned 2nd team All-American honors after earning honorable mention honors after a 11th place finish in 2006.  Williamson also helped his team to a 10th place finish overall.

McLaughlin and the Lady Pioneers take the court again on Tuesday when they travel to Cayuga CC for a 6 p.m. contest while Williamson will travel to Spartanburg, SC to compete in the NJCAA Half-Marathon Championships.
