Braun and Jerome Named 1st Team All-Region

Elaina BraunJenni JeromeAlfred State College volleyball players Elaina Braun (Waterloo) and Jenni Jerome (Syracuse/Westhill) were named 1st team All-Region at this past weekend's Region III Division III Tournament.  Braun and Jerome along with their teammates have had a banner year winning 35 of 39 matches and qualifying for the NJCAA Division III National Championships.

Braun has played in 97 games this year and has passed out 1,078 assists (11.11/game).  She has a 29.94% hitting percentage (121 kills in 334 attempts), 233 digs (2.4/game), 52 aces, and 17 blocks on the season.  In 32 games, Braun passed out more than 20 assists and in five games she had more than 10 digs.

Braun had previously been named 2nd team All-WNYAC and been named NJCAA Setter of the Week.

Jerome has played in 99 games during her freshmen campaign.  She has registered 283 kills (28.85% hitting percentage) in 617 attempts.  She also has recorded 233 digs, 55 blocks, and 32 service aces.  In seven games this season, Jerome recorded double-doubles with more than ten digs and ten kills.

Previously, Jerome was named 1st team All-Region, NJCAA Hitter of the Week, and MVP of the Onondaga CC Tournament.

Braun and Jerome joined teammate and Region III Division III Player of the Year Brianne McMahon (Buffalo/Sweet Home) on the first team.  Ashley Dann (Corning CC), Kari Barimore (Jamestown CC), and Cory Thornton (Corning CC) were also on the first team.

The Lady Pioneers travel to the NJCAA Division III to represent Region III on November 16 in Rochester, MN.
