Lady Pioneers fall to Delhi

The Alfred State College women’s soccer team fell 5-1 to SUNY Delhi in a 1st round Region III Division III contest on Saturday afternoon.  The Lady Pioneers end their season 7-8-1 while the Lady Broncos advance to the quarterfinals on Tuesday afternoon.

Delhi took a 2-0 in the 1st half after out-shooting Alfred 10 to 9.

The Broncos added another goal before Brittany Hannah (Eastridge) scored after getting a pass from Jody Ninos to make it 3-1.  Delhi added two more goals to seal the victory.

Delhi finished with a 24 to 12 shot advantage.  Philicia Harris (Buffalo/Hutch Tech) made 19 saves in net for the Lady Pioneers.

Alfred was making their third straight appearance in the Region III Division III Tournament.
