Lady Spikers ranked #5

The Alfred State College volleyball team has moved up another spot in the latest NJCAA Division III poll.  The Lady Pioneers, 25-2 overall and winners of their last 17 matches, are now #5.

The Blue and Gold were a perfect 7-0 this past week with WNYAC victories over Jamestown CC (3-1) and Mercyhurst North East (3-0) before winning the ASC Tournament on Saturday with victories over Broome CC (2-0), Tompkins Cortland CC (2-0), Jefferson CC (2-0), Corning CC (2-0), and Jamestown CC (2-1) in the championship game.

The Lady Pioneers close out the home portion of their regular season on Thursday when they welcome Division II Genesee CC.  The winner of the contest will earn the #1 seed in Saturday's WNYAC Tournament.
