Lady Pioneers put a scare into Monroe CC

The Alfred State College women's soccer team gave Monroe CC, #4 NJCAA Division I, all they could handle in a double overtime 1-0 loss.  The loss drops the Lady Pioneers to 7-6-1 on the year and snaps a four game winning streak.

The game was scoreless until Courtney Hilliker put one in the top half of the net from 20 yards out with 1:13 remaining in double overtime.

The Lady Tribunes held a 38 to 2 advantage on shots as the Lady Pioneers played a defensive style of game to slow down the high powered MCC offense.  Philicia Harris (Buffalo/Hutch Tech) made 17 saves in net for ASC.

The Tribunes, who had outscored opponents 44 to 5 heading into the game, are now 10-1 on the season.  The Lady Tribunes have a 165-10-9 record in the past nine years.

A-State concludes their regular season with a road contest at Herkimer CCC on Saturday afternoon.  The game is slated for a 1 p.m. start.
