Lady Pios shutout Cayuga

The Alfred State College women's soccer team won their fourth straight contest on Saturday with a 4-0 victory over Cayuga CC.  The Lady Pioneers improve to 7-5-1 overall on the season and 6-5-1 in Region III Division III play.

Jody Ninos (Alfred Almond) scored two goals and passed out an assist to pace the offense.  She finished the week with six goals and three assists.

Brittany Hannah (Eastridge) added a goal and an assist while Santina Gentile (Campbell Savona) scored her first career goal.  Callie Ayers (Letchworth) and Ashleigh Houghtaling (Northern Potter, PA) were credited with assists.

Philicia Harris (Buffalo/Hutch Tech) made four saves in net in the first half while Gentile played in net the 2nd half but did not have to make a save.

ASC outshot CCC 26 to 4 in the contest.  The game was called after 70 minutes after a lightning delay in Auburn.

The Lady Pioneers begin the final week of the regular season with a non-Division III contest versus Division I Monroe CC on Wednesday afternoon.  The game is scheduled for a 4 p.m. start at the Muland Hill field.
