Pioneers record another shutout

The Alfred State College men's soccer team recorded its fifth shutout of the season on Thursday in a 5-0 victory at JCC-Olean.  The Pioneers improve to 6-6-1 on the season and 6-4-1 in Region III Division III play.

Alex Curran (Williamson) returned from injury and netted his first two goals of the season to pace the Pioneers offense.  Tyler Paulsen (Letchworth) scored a goal and passed out an assist while Dustin Falkner (Letchworth) and Erie Nichols (Holland) each scored a goal.

Tommy Vitro (Margaretville) improved to 4-1 in net by making six saves.

The Pioneers have won three straight contests and have a few days off before returning to action on Tuesday when they travel to Jamestown CC for a 4 p.m. contest.
