The Alfred State College volleyball team moved up one spot to #9 in the latest NJCAA Division III poll.  The Lady Pioneers have been ranked as high as #7 and were ranked #10 last week.

Coach Gene Doorley have won their last two matches and are 10-2 on the season and 3-0 in WNYAC play.  This past week the Lady Pioneers downed Niagara CCC 3-0 and Monroe CC 3-1.

Brianne McMahon (Buffalo/Sweet Home) leads the team with 3.4 kills per game and 3.3 digs per game.  Elaina Braun (Waterloo) has passed out 9.1 assists per game, Shannon Jablonski (Cheektowaga) leads the team with 1.1 aces per game, and Georgia Buchholz (Andover) lead with a 35% hitting percentage and .52 blocks per game.

The Lady Pioneers will face some challenges this weekend as they compete in the two-day Onondaga CC Tournament.  In pool play they will take on Mohawk Valley CC (tied for #10 in the poll).  In the other pool Jamestown CC (tied for #10 in the poll) and Monroe CC (defending Regional Champion) will battle.
