Corbin honored by NFC

For the second week in a row Alfred State College wide receiver/kick returner Calvin Corbin (Winslow, NJ) has been honored by the Northeast Football Conference.  Corbin will share special teams player of the week honors with Erie CC's John Rachuna.

Corbin returned the opening kickoff 78 yards for a score and then returned a punt 50 yards for another score less than four minutes later.  He finished the day with 163 all-purpose yards.  Corbin has now scored three special teams touchdowns in the last two weeks.

Rachuna, also a two-time selection, was 2 for 2 on PAT attempts and was 2 for 2 in field goal attempts.  He connected on 46 and 43 yard field goals in Erie's 20-13 win over Nassau.

AJ McKenna (Lackawanna) took the offensive player of the week while David James (HVCC) won the defensive award.

A-State returns to action on Saturday when they open up Northeast Football Conference play with a road battle at Hudson Valley CC.  Opening kickoff is at Noon.
