Corbin named Special Teams Player of the Week

Alfred State College wide receiver/kick returner Calvin Corbin (Winslow, NJ) has been named the Northeast Football Conference special teams player of the week.

Corbin returned a punt 46 yards in the 1st quarter to give the Pioneers a 14-0 lead en route to a 56-14 victory over the JV squad from SUNY Brockport. Corbin also caught three passes for 109 yards and another touchdown. He caught a 62-yard pass from Grant Tamme (Danville, KY) in the 2nd quarter.

Corbin is the second player this year to be honored by the NFC. Cornerback John Chisolm was named the defensive player of the week following the opening weekend.

Bobby Ransom (HVCC) took the offensive player of the week for the second straight week while Cortez Robinson (ECC) won the defensive award.

A-State returns to action on Sunday when they host the Niagara X-Men at 1 p.m. at Maple City Park in Hornell.
