A-State sweeps Erie

The Alfred State College volleyball team remained perfect with a three game sweep of Erie CC in their Western New York Athletic Conference opener.  The Pioneers won 30-10, 30-20, and 30-26 to improve to 6-0 on the season.

Jeni Jerome (Westhill) and Brianne McMahon (Buffalo/Sweet Home) each finished with eight kills.  Shannon Jablonski (Cheektowaga) added six kills and four service aces while Natalie Gregory (Iroquois) finished with five kills and four aces.  Elaina Braun (Waterloo) passed out 27 assists.

The Lady Pioneers, preseason ranked #6 in NJCAA Division III, return to action on Saturday when they will look to defend their title at the Jefferson CC Tournament.  The team will play Jefferson CC, Jamestown CC, and SUNY Delhi in pool action.
