Holmok named women's soccer coach

Submitted by WelkerPM on Mon, 07/30/2007 - 2:46pm

Alfred State College athletic director Kathy Feldman has appointed Anne Holmok as the college's women's soccer coach for the 2007 season.  Holmok begins her second stint as the Lady Pioneers head coach on August 13th.

Holmok coached at Alfred State from 1990 to 1992 before moving to coach at the high school level.  At the high school level she has coached soccer at Scio Central School and track & field at both Scio and Alfred Almond Central School.  During that time she was also active in coaching youth travel soccer teams in the Southern Tier.

Holmok returned to college coaching in 2005 and spent the past two seasons as an assistant coach at Alfred University.  This summer she has served as an assistant coach for the Rochester Rhinos women's team.

Holmok has a Bachelor of Science degree in Heath Care Administration/Business Administration from Alfred University.  She is also a member of the NSCAA and holds a NYS coaching certificate.

Holmok replaces Dee Spina who led the Lady Pioneers the past seven seasons.  She led A-State to four appearances in the Region III Division III Tournament and a 52-57-3 record.  During her tenure, Jody Alvarez, became the first Lady Pioneer to be named NJCAA All-American.
