EOP Summer Prep Academy Orientation

For all EOP students attending Summer Prep Academy on July 25, 2017

To reserve your spot, sign-up. (Students must pay their enrollment deposit before signing up for orientation.)

Check-in is from 1 – 4 p.m. in the Student Leadership Center.

Your orientation session will kick-off the Summer Prep Academy program. The Prep Academy is an inclusive four-week experience designed to enhance your skills in math, reading, writing, and studying (the foundations for college success). You will be introduced to the campus, participate in activities during the day and the evening, and will take care of necessary items to be prepared for your first year. A career exploration will also be available for students who are undecided or may be interested in changing their major.

Guests are welcome to attend orientation with their student on July 25-26. The orientation session will begin on July 25 at 4 p.m. and will end on July 26 at noon. After the orientation program has ended, all guests are asked to leave campus and students will begin the Summer Prep Academy program. There is a $20 fee per guest and this includes overnight accommodations in a residence hall on campus.

Orientation Costs

All full- and part-time, new and transfer students will be assessed a mandatory one-time $110 orientation fee on their student bills (online students are excluded).

Participation fees for guests should be paid online when you sign up using BannerWeb. Guests will be charged a fee of $20 for attending the EOP/Summer Prep Academy Orientation. This fee includes overnight accommodations in a residence hall on campus.

These fees support:

  • Orientation session staffing and activities
  • Food & snacks
  • Registration materials
  • August welcome week
  • New student programming

Refund Policy

If the student is no longer intending to enroll at Alfred State, the additional participation fees shall be refunded if both of the following steps are completed:

  1. Written request for refund of orientation payments is postmarked on or before June 1 and sent to the Admissions Office, Alfred State, 10 Upper College Drive, Alfred, NY 14802, and
  2. The request must come directly from the student.
