The development of the new Center is underway. Planning has been initiated to design the facilities that will house the Center. Faculty are in the beginning stages of the 3-year process to have our facilities certified organic by the USDA. The Alfred State Center will house the only organic dairy herd planned for a public facility in New York State. A new Bachelor's degree in Organic Agriculture is being developed, which we plan to submit to officials in SUNY for their consideration. The organic cows will move into their new home in August 2009.
