Who gets a Blackboard account?

All registered students receive a Blackboard account once their bill has been paid and processed at Alfred State College.

Logging into Blackboard

Alfred State's Blackboard system can be accessed from the following Web site: http://blackboard.alfredstate.edu. We recommend that you bookmark this site on your computer.

To log into Blackboard, you will need your network username (which is also your Blackboard and Web mail username) and password.

If you're a Returning Online Student:  Your username and password should still work unless you have not logged into Webmail or Blackboard in the past 120 days.  If this is the case, follow the instructions below.

If you're a New Online Student:  Your initial password is your date of birth in the following format: mmddyyyy.  This initial password is pre-expired, meaning you will need to change the password before logging into Webmail or Blackboard.  The simplest way to do that is to go to: https://netid.alfredstate.edu/

Enter your username and old password (your date of birth in mmddyyyy format).  Create a new password following the instructions provided.  This new password will become your Webmail and Blackboard password.
