ASC Construction Grant Course Descriptions
BASIC CONSTRUCTION/ CORE CURRICULA
The Basic Construction/ Core Curricula class is an online class. Within this course theory is introduced for basic safety, construction math, hand tools, power tools, blueprint reading, and rigging. A live hands on lab may be added. The live lab will be an additional cost. BASIC CONSTRUCTION/ CARPENTRY 1
The Basic Construction/ Carpentry 1 course is a combination of online classes and live labs. Within this course theory and laboratory skills are introduced for: building materials, fasteners and adhesives, hand and power tools, reading plans and elevations, floor systems, wall and ceiling framing, roof framing, introduction to concrete and reinforcing materials, windows and exterior doors, and basic stair layout.

10-HOUR CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY OUTREACH TRAINING COURSE
The 10-hour program is intended to provide a variety of instruction on construction industry safety and health standards to entry level workers. Upon successful completion, the student will receive an OSHA 10-hour course completion card.
30-HOUR CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY OUTREACH TRAINING COURSE
The 30-hour program is intended to provide a variety of instruction on the construction industry safety and health standards. This is an advanced safety and health standards course intended for supervisors and owners. Upon successful completion, the student will recieve an OSHA 30-hour course completion card.
*Prerequisite: 10-hour Construction Outreach Training Course card
CCET - DRAFTING FOR RESIDENTIAL CONSTRUCTION
The application of basic methods, symbols and conventions to prepare working drawings for the construction of residential buildings. This course is designed to permit the drafting student too develop, design and create drawings typical for the residential industry.
*Prerequisite: Knowledge of AutoCAD 2005, or 2008 is a prerequisite.
