Karen Young

Chair of the Faculty Senate

Karen Young serves as chair of the Alfred State College Faculty Senate. A 1982 alumni of the drafting program, Young returned to Alfred State as an instructor in 1993. After a number of years teaching, she has been promoted, and is currently an associate professor. She accepted the role as chair of the Computerized Design & Manufacturing Department in January of 2005. She states, “I find the leadership roles challenging, but the rewards for the Alfred State community are so worth it. There are people at Alfred that you won’t find in other places. They love the College and put their heart and soul into the students and their complete learning experience.”

Young resides in Olean with her two children.
