Alfred State College is proud to announce our involvement as a Campus Host Sponsor for the AASHE 2011 Conference and EXPO in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on Oct. 9, 2011. Local Solar Installers Earn Industry’s Most Prestigious Certification

Jeffrey Stevens, assistant professor, and Sean Kelley, adjunct instructor, Electrical Trades Department, Alfred State College, recently earned the industry’s leading recognition of expertise as a certified installer of solar electric systems (aka “photovoltaic” or “PV” systems) from the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP).

ASC to Celebrate Earth Day

Alfred State College will celebrate Earth Day with a week filled with activities and events beginning Monday, April 18, 2011.

Alfred State College will celebrate Earth Day with a week filled with activities and events beginning Monday, April 18, 2011. The topic for Monday is “Reduce.” In that sense, ASC plans to hold a big bike ride to reduce automotive emissions, such as hydrocarbons, carbon dioxide, and carbon monoxide. Automotive emissions pollute the environment whether the vehicle is moving or idle. The college will also hold a “lights out” for an hour to reduce its energy usage.
