Alfred State Farm Shows Plans, Invites Public

Alfred State College Center for Organic and Sustainable Agriculture will host a public display of the proposed plans for the renovation of the college farm. The plans will feature designs for the new dairy barn that will accommodate both organic and non-organic cows.

Alfred State College Center for Organic and Sustainable Agriculture will host a public display of the proposed plans for the renovation of the college farm. The plans will feature designs for the new dairy barn that will accommodate both organic and non-organic cows. Pasture management, renovation of existing buildings, and other agricultural enterprises on the campus will also be subjects for discussion. Farmers, members of the community, and all other stakeholders are invited to participate and give their feedback on the plans.

ASC to Host Workshops on Preparing the Ground for Local Fair Trade

ASC will host two half-day workshops on Preparing the Ground for Local Fair Trade Monday, March 29, 2010, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Pioneer Lounge on the Alfred campus.

ASC President Commits to ‘Climate Neutral’ Campus

Dr. John M. Anderson, president, Alfred State College, has joined a growing list of higher education leaders committed to fighting global warming. Earlier this week, Anderson agreed to sharply reducing and eventually eliminating all of the college’s global warming emissions, and accelerating the research and educational efforts to equip society to re-stabilize the earth’s climate.

Dr. John M. Anderson, president, Alfred State College, has joined a growing list of higher education leaders committed to fighting global warming. Earlier this week, Anderson agreed to sharply reducing and eventually eliminating all of the college’s global warming emissions, and accelerating the research and educational efforts to equip society to re-stabilize the earth’s climate.

The pledge came with Anderson’s signing of the American College & University Presidents’ Climate Commitment, joining the leaders of other institutions across the country.
