Lady Pioneers Upset FLCC

The Alfred State College women's soccer team defeated #5 Finger Lakes CC 1-0 in a hard fought battle at Pioneer Stadium.  The win, the Lady Pioneers sixth straight, improves ASC to 9-3 on the year while FLCC falls to 11-2-1.

The lone goal of the contest came with 14:12 remaining when Jenna Lynn (York) created a breakaway situation with a nice move.  She was able to slide a shot past the goaltender for the game winning goal.

The Alfred State College women's soccer team started off fast and defeated Herkimer CCC 5-1 in a key Region III Division III contest.  ASC, winners of five in a row, are now 8-3 on the season.

Tiffany Fox (Canisteo Greenwood) got the scoring started just 31 seconds into the game when she followed up a shot by Holli Pierce (Livonia) that was deflected in front of the net by the HCCC goalie.

Women's Soccer Cancelled vs. Corning

This afternoon's (10/7) women's soccer game between Alfred State and Corning CC has been cancelled due to poor field conditions caused by the recent heavy rainfall in the area.  The game will be made up on Friday, October 15th at 4 p.m. in Corning.

The Alfred State College women's soccer team scored three goals in the first four minutes en route to a 8-0 victory over Cayuga CC.  The win, the teams fourth in a row, improves the Lady Pioneers to 7-3.

Holli Pierce (Livonia) recorded a hat trick while Tiffany Fox (Canisteo Greenwood) and Abby Komarc (Horseheads) found the back of the net twice.  Charise Nankivell (Hornell) passed out three assists, Makenzie Finnemore (Genesee Valley) had a goal and an assist, and Mo Parks (Avoca), Jenna Lynn (York), and Danielle Hill (Addison) all were credited with assists.

The Alfred State College women's soccer team scored a season high six goals in a 6-2 victory over Erie CC in the continuous rain on Thursday.  The win, the team's third straight, improves the Lady Pioneers to 6-3 overall and 5-3 in Region III Division III play.

Lady Pioneers Win in Double OT

Shea McKee (Canisteo Greenwood) scored 1:19 into the second overtime as Alfred State defeated JCC-Olean 2-1 on Tuesday afternoon.  ASC improves to 5-3 (4-3 Region III Division III) while JCC-Olean falls to 9-2.

Charise Nankivell (Hornell) got the Lady Pioneers on the board first with 15:38 remaining in the 1st half when her crossing shot hit the post and slide into the back of the net.  Jenna Lynn (York) was credited with the assist.

Casey O'Keeffe tied it up just over five minutes later when her crossing shot hit the post and went into the net.

The Alfred State College women's soccer team snapped a two-game losing streak by downing Niagara CCC 4-1.  The Lady Pioneers improve to 4-3 on the year.

Holli Pierce (Livonia) led the offensive attack with two goals and an assist while Daniell Hill (Addison) finished with a goal and an assist.  Jenna Lynn (York) scored the last goal after getting an assist from Tara Scholla (Genesee Valley).  Tiffany Fox (Canisteo Greenwood) also picked up an assist on the day.

Mo Parks (Avoca) made 11 saves in net in recording the victory in net.

Rally Falls Short

The Alfred State College women's soccer team could not rally out of a 2-0 deficit and fell 2-1 to Broome CC in a Region III Division III contest.  The Lady Pioneers are now 3-3 on the year.

Brooke Harris scored with 8:38 remaining in the 1st half and scored 1:23 into the 2nd half to give the Lady Hornets a 2-0 lead.

Megan Votava (Alfred Almond) cut the lead in half with 32:23 remaining when her long shot from nearly 40 yards out found the upper part of the net.

Genesee CC snapped Alfred State's three-game winning streak with a 2-1 victory on Tuesday evening at Pioneer Stadium.  GCC, ranked #5 in NJCAA Division III, broke a 1-1 tie with 22:14 remaining in the game.

Jessie Jaszco got the Lady Cougars on the board with 26 minutes remaining but Holli Pierce (Livonia) tied it up with 10:42 remaining in the 1st half after getting a pass from Ginette Cornett (Potsdam).

Catherine Mucha capitalized on an odd man rush with 22:14 left for the game-winner for GCC, who improves to 8-1 on the year.
