The Alfred State women's soccer team has climbed into the NJCAA Division III poll for the first time in 2012. The Lady Pioneers debut in the second poll of the season with the #5 ranking.

The Lady Pioneers have won three straight games after dropping their opener to DI Monroe College.  In the three game winning streak, Alfred has outscored their opponents 10 to 1.

Ocean County College is ranked #1 in the poll followed by Region III schools Finger Lakes CC and Mohawk Valley CC.  Bunker Hill CC is 4th followed by Alfred State, Rochester CTC, Holyoke CC, Herkimer

The Alfred State women's soccer team earned a 4-0 victory over Jamestown CC to run their winning streak to three games and improve their overall record to 3-1, 3-0 Region III Division III.

Hannah Holmok (Alfred Almond) scored the lone goal of the 1st half after getting a pass from Kali Mulheisen (Alfred Almond).

In the 2nd, the Lady Pioneers put the game out of reach with three goals in a span of less than seven minutes.  Mulheisen scored in the 53rd minute after getting a pass from Holmok.  Taylor Dezio (Marion) scored in the 58th minute.  Holmok and Mulheisen

Soccer player Kali Muhleisen (Alfred Almond) and Jedadiah Platt (Appleton/Barker) have been named the Alfred State athletes of the week by the Sports Information department.

Muhleisen netted her first hat trick of her collegiate career as Alfred State defeated Jefferson CC 4-1.  Muhleisen has scored five goals in the Lady Pioneers first three games.

Platt won the Alfred State Invitational 8k men's race this weekend.  He finished in 31:53.71.

Muhleisen's Hat Trick Lift Alfred State Past Jefferson

Kali Mulheisen (Alfred Almond) recorded her first collegiate hat trick as the Alfred State women's soccer team defeated Jefferson CC 4-1 in the 2012 home opener. The Lady Pioneers are now 2-1 on the season.

Mulheisen had numerous chances early to score and netted the first goal of the game 20:04 into the contest.  Hannah Gilray (Fredonia) was credited with the assist.  17 minutes later, Jefferson tied it up on a goal by Kari Gehrke.

Thunderstorms in the Delhi area halted the Alfred State women's soccer game at SUNY Delhi prior to the 70th minute forcing the cancellation of the game. The two teams will try to make up the game from the beginning later in the season.

Lady Pioneers Shutout TC3

The Alfred State women's soccer team opened up Region III Division III play with a 2-0 shutout victory at Tompkins Cortland CC. The Lady Pioneers outshot the Lady Panthers 20 to 6 on the day to improve to 1-1 on the season.

Lady Pioneers Fall in Opener

The Alfred State women's soccer team fell 3-0 to Monroe (Bronx) College in their 2012 season opener. The game played in Rochester was part of the Monroe CC Invitational The Mustangs finished their trip to Rochester with a 2-0 record.

Monroe found the back of the net twice in the first half and once more in the second.  Krista DeCarlo (Bayshore/West Islip) made 11 saves in net as the Lady Pioneers were outshot 22-5.

NCAA grants exploratory status to Alfred State

The NCAA Division III membership committee announced this week that it has granted exploratory status to the Alfred State athletic program. Alfred State submitted the NCAA application in January.

 “Moving to NCAA is a natural evolution in creating a four-year college environment at Alfred State. We are excited about the prospects of having our athletes compete for four years wearing the blue & gold,”  said Alfred State President, John Anderson.

Six Lady Pioneers Named All-WNYAC

Six members of the Alfred State College women's soccer team have been honored by the WNYAC.  Holli Pierce (Livonia), Jenna Lynn (York), Maura Tuffey (Albany/The Academy of the Holy Names), and Simone Delaney (Canisteo Greenwood) were 1st team selections while Lacee Pearl (Olean) and Danielle Henry (Arkport) were 2nd team.

Six members of the Alfred State College women's soccer team have been honored by the WNYAC.  Holli Pierce (Livonia), Jenna Lynn (York), Maura Tuffey (Albany/The Academy of the Holy Names), and Simone Delaney (Canisteo Greenwood) were 1st team selections while Lacee Pearl (Olean) and Danielle Henry (Arkport) were 2nd team.

Pierce was second on the Lady Pioneers with 23 points on the season.  She netted 11 goals (5 game winners) and one assists in 14 games.  Earlier in the season she was named 2nd team All-Region.

Four Lady Pioneers Named All-Region

The Alfred State College women's soccer team has landed four players on the 2011 All-Region team.  Jenna Lynn (York) was named 1st team while Holli Pierce (Livonia), Maura Tuffey (Albany/The Academy of the Holy Names), and Simone Delaney (Canisteo Greenwood) were named 2nd team.

The Alfred State College women's soccer team has landed four players on the 2011 All-Region team.  Jenna Lynn (York) was named 1st team while Holli Pierce (Livonia), Maura Tuffey (Albany/The Academy of the Holy Names), and Simone Delaney (Canisteo Greenwood) were named 2nd team.

Lynn led the Lady Pioneers offense in scoring.  She finished the campaign with a 12 goals and three assists for a team high 27 points.  For her two-year career she netted 19 goals and passed out seven assists.
