Lady Pioneers put a scare into Monroe CC

The Alfred State College women's soccer team gave Monroe CC, #4 NJCAA Division I, all they could handle in a double overtime 1-0 loss.  The loss drops the Lady Pioneers to 7-6-1 on the year and snaps a four game winning streak.

The game was scoreless until Courtney Hilliker put one in the top half of the net from 20 yards out with 1:13 remaining in double overtime.

The Alfred State College women's soccer team won their fourth straight contest on Saturday with a 4-0 victory over Cayuga CC.  The Lady Pioneers improve to 7-5-1 overall on the season and 6-5-1 in Region III Division III play.

Lady Pioneers Down Erie for 3rd Straight Win

Brittany Hannah (Eastridge) and Jody Ninos (Alfred Almond) each scored two goals and passed out an assist as the Alfred State College women's soccer team downed Erie CC 5-1 on Thursday afternoon.  The win was the Lady Pioneers third straight and improved the team to 6-5-1 overall and 5-5-1 in Region III Division III play.

Ninos got the scoring going just minutes into the contest when she scored on a break-a-way after getting a pass from Hannah.  Hannah made it 2-0 in the 20th minute when she put a nice touch past the goalie after getting a pass from Ninos.

The Alfred State College women's soccer team doubled up Niagara CCC 6-3 in WNYAC action on Saturday afternoon.  The Lady Pioneers improve to 4-5-1 on the year.

Brittany Hannah (Eastridge) scored two goals while Jody Ninos (Alfred Almond), Caitlin Neil (Alfred Almond), Lindsay Brownson (Chittenango), and Holly Fitzpatrick (Hornell) scored goals for ASC.  It was Neil's and Brownson's first goal of the season.

Philicia Harris (Buffalo/Hutch Tech) made four saves in net for the Lady Pioneers.

The Alfred State College women's soccer team couldn't knock off #1 Broome CC in a Region III Division III contest on Thursday afternoon.  The Blue and Gold fall to 3-5-1 on the year following the 7-0 defeat.

The Hornets scored four goals in the 1st half and then added three more in the 2nd half.  With the win, BCC has won seven straight contests and improve to 9-1 on the season.

The Lady Pioneers return to action on Saturday when they host Niagara CCC.  The opening kick-off is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. and the game will follow the men's contest which begins at 1 p.m.

Q&A with Kaila Smith

Kaila SmithAlfred State College three-sport athlete Kaila Smith (Alfred Almond) has scored one goal and has one assist on the women's soccer team thus far.  The Lady Pioneers are 3-4-1 on the year.

Smith was a member of the basketball team and the softball team and this season she has suited up in all eight of ASC's contests.

Genesee CC scored with 5:38 remaining in the contest to break a 1-1 tie en route to a 2-1 Western New York Athletic Conference victory over Alfred State on Tuesday afternoon.  The win improves the Lady Cougars to 7-2-1 and drops the Lady Pioneers to 3-4-1.
