Women's Soccer Ties Jefferson

Alfred State College and Jefferson CC battled 110 minutes with neither team able to find the back of the net.  The Lady Pioneers are now 2-0-1 on the season and have yet to allow a goal.

Mo Parks (Avoca) made 12 saves in net for the Lady Pioneers.

ASC returns to action on Tuesday when they host WNYAC opponent Bryant & Stratton at 4 p.m. at Pioneer Stadium.

Lady Pioneers Blank Delhi

Therese Hubbel (Bishop Kearney) recorded her second straight game-winning goal as the Alfred State College women's soccer team blanked SUNY Delhi 1-0 to improve to 2-0 on the young season.

Therese Hubbel (Bishop Kearney) recorded her second straight game-winning goal as the Alfred State College women's soccer team blanked SUNY Delhi 1-0 to improve to 2-0 on the young season.

Hubbel got a header from Hailey Post (Jasper Troupsburg) just outside the box and was able to dribble in  and slide it past the Bronco goalkeeper.

Mo Parks (Avoca) made the lead stick by recording the shutout in net.  She made seven saves.

ASC held a 12-9 shot advantage in the game.

Women's Soccer Shuts Out TCCC

The 2009 Alfred State College women's soccer team opened up their campaign with a 2-0 victory over Tompkins Cortland CC under the lights at Pioneer Stadium.  The Lady Pioneers scored goals in each half en route to the victory.

Therese Hubbel (Bishop Kearney) got the blue & gold on the board late in the first half when she snuck a shot past the Lady Panther goalie after getting a pass from Audry Rath (Medina).

McKenzie Finnemore (Genesee Valley) made it 2-0 when her header off a corner kick from Shawna McNeil (Hornell) found the back of the net.

Pioneers Earn Academic Honors

Twenty Alfred State College student athletes have been honored with academic awards.  Eleven Pioneers were named NJCAA Academic All-American, 13 were named Academic All-Region, and 20 were named Academic All Conference.

Twenty Alfred State College student athletes have been honored with academic awards.  Eleven Pioneers were named NJCAA Academic All-American, 13 were named Academic All-Region, and 20 were named Academic All Conference.

Women's basketball player Jacqueline Dresser (South Seneca) earned a 4.00 GPA to earn distinguished NJCAA Academic All-American.  She was also an All-Region and All-WNYAC academic honoree.

Alfred State releases Fall Schedules

The Alfred State College athletic department has published the 2009 fall athletic schedules.  Athletes will begin reporting to campus in the middle of August with games beginning the last weekend of August.

The Alfred State College athletic department has published the 2009 fall athletic schedules.  Athletes will begin reporting to campus in the middle of August with games beginning the last weekend of August. 

The Pioneers will look to continue the success of the 2008-09 season in which the department finished with 151 victories and a .594 winning winning percentage.  In total, the department had 15 athletes earn NJCAA All-American honors, 12 named NJCAA Academic All-Americans, 49 named All-Region, and 42 named All-Conference.  The volleyball team and the men's indo

Three Lady Pioneers Earn All-Region Soccer Honors

The 2008 Region III Division III women's soccer All-Region team were anounced this week and three Lady Pioneers were honored. Freshman midfielder Shelby Winchester (Maple Grove), freshman forward Jessie Smith (Fredonia) and freshman defender Audrey Rath (Medina) were each named to the second team.

Six Lady Pioneer Soccer Players Named All-WNYAC

Six members of the Alfred State College women's soccer team have earned All-WNYAC honors following a very successful 2008 campaign.  Jessie Smith (Fredonia), Brittany Hannah (Eastridge), Shelby Winchester (Maple Grove), and Meghan Lowell (Keshequa) were named to the 1st team while Audry Rath (Medina) and Chelsea Lafayette (Eastridge) were named to the 2nd team.

Six members of the Alfred State College women's soccer team have earned All-WNYAC honors following a very successful 2008 campaign.  Jessie Smith (Fredonia), Brittany Hannah (Eastridge), Shelby Winchester (Maple Grove), and Meghan Lowell (Keshequa) were named to the 1st team while Audry Rath (Medina) and Chelsea Lafayette (Eastridge) were named to the 2nd team.

Smith, a freshman forward, led the Blue and Gold with 34 points on the season, 13 goals and eight assists.  She found the back of the net in nine games and had three games in which she scored twice.

Lady Pioneers Fall in Finals

The Alfred State College women's soccer team fell 4-0 to Broome CC in the Region III Division III B bracket finals in the rain on Saturday.  The Lady Pioneers, ranked #6 in the latest NJCAA poll, end the season 11-5-1 mark.

The Alfred State College women's soccer team fell 4-0 to Broome CC in the Region III Division III B bracket finals in the rain on Saturday.  The Lady Pioneers, ranked #6 in the latest NJCAA poll, end the season 11-5-1 mark.

The Hornets, the 2007 National Champions, scored three goals in the first half and held Alfred State to just two shots on goal.
