Lady Pioneers Drop Tough Contest

The Alfred State College women's basketball team fell 69-66 at Mercyhurst North East in a WNYAC battle that came down to the final seconds.  The Lady Pioneers had three shots in the final moments that rimmed out that would have sent the game into overtime.

Camille Romero (Queens Village/Mary Louis) led ASC with 18 points while Amie Brooks (Pavilion) finished with 14.  Shadeeka Campbell (Brooklyn/William Grady) added 10 points and 13 rebounds.

ASC shot just 39.1% from the field and was just 8 for 18 from the foul line.

Lady Pioneers Fall in WNYAC opener

The Alfred State College women's basketball team could not rally all the way back and fell 64-51 to Jamestown CC in their Western New York Athletic Conference opener.  ASC is now 10-6 on the year while JCC, ranked #17 in Division II of the NJCAA, improves to 16-3.

Amie Brooks (Pavilion) led the way for the blue & gold with 19 points.  Camille Romero (Queens Village/Mary Louis) chipped in nine while Shadeeka Campbell (Brooklyn/William Grady) and Nuri Bey (Bronx/Evander Childs) each finished with six.

Medaille JV Shoots Past Lady Pioneers

The Alfred State College women's basketball team fell 74-69 to a hot shooting Medaille JV squad in their 2011 opener.  The Lady Pioneers head into WNYAC play with a 10-5 mark.

The Alfred State College women's basketball team fell 74-69 to a hot shooting Medaille JV squad in their 2011 opener.  The Lady Pioneers head into WNYAC play with a 10-5 mark.

Medaille connected on 11 out of 27 three-point attempts as they held on to hold off a late Lady Pioneers rally.  The Mavericks led 44-33 at half but saw the lead shrink to three in the final minutes.

The Alfred State College women's basketball team gave Lakeland CC all they could handle in a 59-56 loss on Saturday.  The loss snaps the Lady Pioneers four game winning streak and drops the team to 9-4 on the year.

Amie Brooks (Pavilion) led the blue & gold with 21 points, three steals, and two assists while Shadeeka Campbell (Brooklyn/William Grady) had a double-double with 10 points and 11 boards.  Jenna Harrington (Gasport) finished with 17 points and Khaylah Moss (Chenango Valley) finished with seven points and nine boards.

The Alfred State College women's basketball team used a late 2nd half run to down Cuyahoga CC 53-47.  ASC has now won four in a row and are 9-3 on the season.

Amie Brooks (Pavilion) and Jenna Harrington (Gasport) each finished with 13 points.  Each hit three 3-pointers.  Shadeeka Campbell (Brooklyn/William Grady) finished with nine points, 10 rebounds, and six blocks while Khaylah Moss (Chenango Valley) chipped in six points and 10 rebounds.

Late Run Leads Lady Pioneer Past FLCC

The Alfred State College women's basketball team went on a 11-0 run late in the second half en route to a 62-57 victory over Finger Lakes CC.  FLCC led 54-50 with just under six minutes when ASC went on their run.

Shadeeka Campbell (Brooklyn/William Grady) led ASC with 13 points and 17 boards while Carriola Chambers (New York/Facing History) added 12 points and seven board.  Jenna Harrington (Gasport) finished with 11 points, six rebounds, and five assists while Khaylah Moss (Chenango Valley) chipped in four points and 10 rebounds.

The Alfred State College women's basketball team defeated Fulton Montgomery CC 50-45 in the championship game of the 2010 ASC Tournament.  The Lady Pioneers head into the the Thanksgiving break with a 7-3 mark.

Tournament MVP Amie Brooks (Pavilion) led the Lady Pioneers with 16 points while Khaylah Moss (Chenango Valley) had a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds.  Camille Romero (Queens Valley/Mary Louis) came off the bench and chipped in six while Nuri Bey (Bronx/Evander Childs) finished with 10 boards.

Lady Pioneers Advance to Title Game

The Alfred State College women's basketball team defeated Jefferson CC 70-44 to advance to the title game of the 2010 ASC Tournament.  The Lady Pioneers are now 6-3 on the season and will take on Fulton Montgomery CC tomorrow in the championship game at Noon.

Strong Second Half Lifts Titusville over ASC

Alfred State College on Thursday evening.  ASC led 33-32 at half and led 48-43 before the Panthers tied the game at 56-56 with eight minutes remaining.

Pitt-Titusville finished on a 20-8 run to lift themsevles to a 76-64 come-from-behind victory over Alfred State College on Thursday evening.  ASC led 33-32 at half and led 48-43 before the Panthers tied the game at 56-56 with eight minutes remaining.

Geena Sneeringer led Titusville (5-2) with 26 points and 14 rebounds while Maura McCaslin and Marissa Neely each finished with 15.  Tierra Wallace also finished in double-figures with 10 points.  The Panthers were 28 for 42 from the line including 20 for 26 in the second half.
