The Alfred State College athletic department will induct three new members into the Athletic Hall of Fame on January 26. Kathryn Stedman (volleyball & softball), Joseba Sarriegui (cross country & track & field), and Mike Brown (baseball) will be inducted at a brunch ceremony in the Allegany Room of Central Dining Hall and then honored in between games of the basketball doubleheader with Jamestown CC the same afternoon.

For the second year in a row Alfred State College volleyball coach Gene Doorley has been named the American Volleyball Coaches Two-Year College Northeast-Southeast Region Coach of the Year. Doorley led the Lady Pioneers to their first trip to the NJCAA National Championships since 1977.

For the past thirty years volleyball teams at Alfred State College have been compared to the success of the 1976 and 1977 teams. After two unbelievably successful seasons the standard of excellence of the volleyball program will now be compared to the success of the 2006 and 2007 teams.

The Alfred State College volleyball team is in action all day at the NJCAA Division III National Championships in Rochester, MN. The Lady Pioneers are making their first appearance in the National Tournament since 1977.
The Alfred State College volleyball team earned a 5th place tie at the NJCAA Division III National Championships in Rochester, MN. The Lady Pioneers fell in their first two matches of pool play but rebounded to win their final match.
ASC, was making their first appearance in the National Tournament since 1977, finishes the season with a 36-6 record.
