Lady Spikers Win WNYAC Title

The Alfred State College volleyball team captured the progam's first Western New York Athletic Conference Championship with two victories at the annual end-of-year tournament.  The Lady Pioneers downed Niagara CCC 3-1 in the semis and Genesee CC 3-1 to claim the title and improve to 33-3 on the year.

Volleyball Ranked Seventh Nationally

The Alfred State volleyball team is ranked seventh in the latest NJCAA Division III poll to remain in the Top 10 where they have been all season.  The Lady Pioneers slipped one spot from last week's ranking of sixth.

The Alfred State College volleyball team earned their 31st victory as they wrapped up the regular season with a 25-6, 25-14, 25-15 victory over Erie CC. The Lady Pioneers, ranked #6 in the latest NJCAA poll, are now 31-3 on the season and 6-0 in WNYAC play.

"Dig Pink" Event set for Tuesday Night

The Alfred State College volleyball team will host a "Dig Pink" event on Tuesday as the Lady Pioneers close out the regular season with a match versus Erie CC.  "Dig Pink" is an initiative of the American Volleyball Coaches Association that was started to raise funds in the fight against breast cancer.

Lady Spikers Win CCC Tourney

The Alfred State College volleyball team won their third tournament of the season with a victory at the Corning CC Tournament on Saturday.  The Lady Pioneers, ranked #6 in the lastest NJCAA Division III poll, were 4-1 on the day and are 30-3 on the season.

In pool play the Blue and Gold downed Tompkins Cortland CC 25-18 and 25-10 and Adirondack CC 25-17 and 25-14 before falling in three to Monroe CC 25-23, 23-25, 12-15.

The Alfred State College volleyball team downed Genesee CC 25-20, 25-19, 25-18 in a WNYAC match-up in Batavia on Thursday.  The victory over GCC was the first for ASC in over ten years and improves the #6 ranked Lady Pioneers to 26-2 (5-0 WNYAC) on the season.

As a result of a 5-0 week and capturing the ASC Tournament championship, the Alfred State College volleyball team jumped up one spot to #6 in the latest NJCAA Division III poll.  The Blue and Gold, currently 25-2 on the season, have been in every poll of the season.

The Alfred State College volleyball team won its eighth straight contest on Tuesday evening with a 3-1 victory at Mercyhurst North East.  The Lady Pioneers, ranked #7 in the latest NJCAA Division III poll, improve to 25-2 on the season.

After dropping the first game 18-25, Alfred State rallied to win the next three: 25-17, 25-11, 25-13

Yurika Toyodome (Tokyo, Japan) led the way 17 kills, 18 digs, and two blocks while Jenni Jerome (Syracuse/Westhill) chipped in 14 kills, 20 digs, and four blocks.

Jerome Named Region Athlete of the Week

lfred State College sophomore Jenni Jerome (Syracuse/Westhill) has been named the Region III Female Athlete of the Week for her strong play as the #7 ranked Lady Pioneers went 5-0 and won the ASC Tournament.

Alfred State College sophomore Jenni Jerome (Syracuse/Westhill) has been named the Region III Female Athlete of the Week for her strong play as the #7 ranked Lady Pioneers went 5-0 and won the ASC Tournament.

Jerome recorded 47 kills (.343 hitting percentage), 49 digs, five aces, four blocks, and three assists as the Lady Pioneers won the ASC Tournament for the third straight year.  Her biggest match came in the semi-finals when she had 12 kills and 13 digs while in the finals she recorded eight kills and 10 digs.

The Alfred State College volleyball team, ranked #7 in the latest NJCAA Division III poll, defended their ASC Tournament title with a 5-0 day.  The Lady Pioneers improve to 24-2 on the season.

ASC opened up pool play with a 25-16, 25-17 victory over Broome CC.  Jenni Jerome (Syracuse/Westhill) finished with eight kills and 11 digs, Yurika Toyodome (Tokyo, Japan) chipped in six kills and nine digs, and Breanna Horton (Owego Free) finished with 22 assists and seven digs.
