Swim Men Win at Genesee, Women finish 5th

The Alfred State College men's swim team swam away with the top spot at the Genesee CC Fall Invitational on Saturday afternoon.  The men scored 334.5 points ahead of 2nd place SUNY Delhi's 209.  The women finished 5th with 64 points out of six teams.

Swimming Dives Into New Season

The Alfred State College swimming team began the 2008-09 season by competing at the Geneseo Invitational.  Both the men's and women's team finished 5th in the competition that featured SUNY Geneseo, SUNY Brockport, Alfred University, and Monroe CC.

Swimming National Championship Blog

Alfred State College swimmers Kailtyn Corbett (Clarence) and Becca Mastasio (Livonia) combined to write a blog entry each day as the Pioneers competed in the NJCAA National Championships in Fort Pierce, FL.  The men's team won the non-scholarship championship while the women's team finished in 9th place.

Men win Non-Scholarship Title, Women finish 9th overall

The Alfred State College men's swimming team won the non-scholarship title at the NJCAA National Championships.  The Pioneers racked up 233 points to top the non-scholarship schools and finish 5th overall.  The women scored 82 points to finish 9th out of 15 teams.

Seven Swimmers Earn All-Region

Seven members of the Alfred State College swimming team have earned All-Region honors.  Five members of the Region III Runner-up men's team earned All-Region honors while two members of the women's 3rd place team were honored.

Men finish 2nd, Women 3rd at Swimming Districts

The Alfred State College swim team completed a very stong showing at the Northeast Districts on Sunday.  The men's team finished as runner-ups and the women were 3rd out of 9 teams.  At the conclusion of the meet, the women's team was named the most improved team while head coach Bob Haley was named the men's coach of the year.

Men still in 2nd, Women in 4th after day two of Swim Districts

The Alfred State College swimming team is continuing its strong showing at the Northeast Districts this weekend.  The men sit in 2nd place heading into the final day of competition while the women are in 4th.

Kaitlyn Corbett (Clarence) and Brett Kozlowski (N. Tonawanda) highlighted day two for the Pioneers.  Corbett won the 200 freestyle (2:08.61) and then broke the school record in teh 100 back by finishing 2nd in 1:06.28.  Kozlowski won the 400 IM in 4:38.30.

The Alfred State College men's swim team trails Monroe CC by just 23 points after day one of three at the Northeast Districts.  The women's team currently sits in 3rd place.

The Alfred State College men's swim team trails Monroe CC by just 23 points after day one of three at the Northeast Districts.  The women's team currently sits in 3rd place.

The men's 400 medley relay team highlighted the day with an impressive win.  Alex Newell (Binghamton), Phillip Valenta (Maine Endwell), Brett Kozlowski (N. Tonawanda), and Dan Langworthy (Peekskill) was three seconds faster than Monroe and won in a time of 3:50.20.

Corbett Sets New School Record as Pioneers Tune up for Regionals

Alfred State College sophomore swimmer Kaitlyn Corbett (Clarence) set a new school record in teh 100 backstroke as the Pioneers wrapped up the invitational portion of their schedule at the Genesee CC Cougar Winter Classic on Saturday.  Corbett swam a 1:07.86 to win the event and set a new school standard.
