The Alfred State College offense didn't get going as the Pioneers fell to Hudson Valley CC 3-0 in their 2010 home finale.  ASC is now 4-8-2 on the season and 4-8-1 in Region III Division III play.

After a few days off the Alfred State College men's soccer team could not get much going in a 5-1 loss at Tompkins Cortland CC on a cold and rainy evening. The Pioneers are now 4-7-2 on the season.

David Hallmark (Dunkirk) scored the lone goal of the contest for the blue & gold after getting a pass from Nana Owusu Obeng (Yonkers/Gorton).

Alfred State returns to action on Sunday when they host Hudson Valley CC in their final home game of the season. The game is scheduled for a Noon start at Pioneer Stadium.

Pioneers "Think Pink"

In support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Alfred State College athletes have added pink to the blue & gold that they wear on the field of competition.

In support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Alfred State College athletes have added pink to the blue & gold that they wear on the field of competition.

Pink shoelaces, pink warm-up shirts, and pink athletic tape have and will be worn by athletes throughout the month of October.

The Pioneer football team will "think pink" at their game this Saturday when they host Hudson Valley CC.  Opening kickoff is at Noon at Pioneer Stadium and fans are encouraged to wear pink along with their blue & gold.

For the second time in the past two weeks the Alfred State College men's soccer team lost a heartbreaking 2-1 overtime decision.  Finger Lakes CC scored 1:42 into the first overtime to secure the win.

FLCC got on the board first with 31:30 remaining in the 1st half before Lucas Wales (Bath) answered right back 34 seconds later with his team leading 7th goal.

Neither team could find the back of the net the rest of the way until Cory Stephany scored the game winner wiht 8:18 remaining in the first overtime.

Early Goal Propels Pioneers Past Corning

Peter Dezio (East Rochester) scored 7:13 into the contest as Alfred State defeated Corning CC 1-0 in a Region III Division III contest at Pioneer Stadium on Thursday evening.  ASC improves to 4-5-2 on the season while CCC falls to 3-7-1.

Lucas Wales (Bath) fired a perfect crossing pass that Dezio was able to control and find the back of the net. 

Both teams had chances as the game progressed as shots rang off the goal posts and both goalies made goal saving saves.

Erie Scores Two in Second to Defeat ASC

Erie CC scored two second half goals in a 3-1 victory over Alfred State in the rain on Thursday.  The Pioneers fall to 2-5-2 on the season.

Peter Dezio (East Rochester) scored the first goal of the game with 15 minutes left in the 1st half.  Erie answered with a few minutes later to send the game into halftime tied at 1-1.

The Kats found the back of the net twice in the 2nd half to secure the victory.

Daniel Krajcir (Gloversville) made eight saves in net.

ASC returns to action on Saturday when they host Cayuga CC at 2 p.m.

The Alfred State College men's soccer team fell 2-1 to Niagara CCC in overtime on Saturday.  The Pioneers are now 2-3-1 on the season.

Niagara scored the game winner in the 5th minute of overtime to earn the victory.

Lucas Wales (Bath) scored with eight minutes left to lift Alfred State to a 2-1 victory over Broome CC.  The Pioneers are now 2-2-2 on the season.

The Hornets tied it up with seven minutes left in the 1st half and the game remained tied until Wales' goal with eight minutes left.

BCC held a 11 to 10 shot advantage.  Dan Krajcir (Gloversville) made 10 saves for ASC.
