Brannen's 42 leads Pioneers to Victory

Travis Brannen (Elmira Free) had a career high 42 points as the Alfred State College men's basketball team wrapped up their six-game road trip with a 86-73 victory over Mercyhurst North East on Tuesday.  ASC finishes the road trip 5-1 and improves to 16-11 (7-5 WNYAC) on the season.

Foley's Triple-Double Leads Pioneers past Medaille JV

Dan Foley (Irondequoit) recorded a triple-double as Alfred State downed Medaille College JV 91-60 on Saturday afternoon.  Foley and the Pioneers have won seven of their last eight and are 4-1 on the current six-game road trip.

Foley finished with 20 points, 15 rebounds, and 10 assists to lead the blue and gold's offense.  Geoff Hicks (Buffalo/Cleveland Hill) recorded a double-double with 16 points and 12 boards while Travis Brannen (Elmira Free) chipped in 14 and Chris Lorenzo (Syracuse/Corcoran) finished with 13.

The Alfred State College men's basketball team bounced back from a loss on Tuesday with a 67-50 over JCC-Olean on Thursday evening.  The Pioneers winners of six of their past seven games improve to 14-11 overall and 6-5 in WNYAC play.

Both the Alfred State College basketball team struggled shooting as they fell to Erie CC on Tuesday night at the Flickenger Center in Buffalo.  The women sees their record fall to 9-11 (4-4 Region III Division II) after a 52-49 decision while the men are now 13-11 (5-5 WNYAC) following a 67-61 loss.

Brannen Named National and Region Athlete of the Week

Alfred State College sophomore center Travis Brannen (Elmira Free) has been named the Region III Male co-athlete of the week.  Brannen is the third Pioneer to be honored by Region III in the past three weeks.

Late Run Leads ASC to Fifth Straight

Trailing 61-58 with four and half minutes left in the game, the Alfred State College men's basketball team went on a 12-0 run to close out the contest to win their fifth straight contest, 70-61 over Niagara CCC.  The Pioneers improve to 13-10 overall and 5-4 in WNYAC play.

Neil Wilson (Ft. Worth, TX) led the way with 22 points and four rebounds while Dan Foley (Irondequoit) added 21 points and 10 boards.  Travis Brannen (Elmira Free) had a big day with 16 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, and three blocks.

The Alfred State College men's basketball team shot 48% from beyond the three-point arc in a 80-63 WNYAC road victory at Genesee CC.  The Pioneers have won four straight and improve to 12-10 overall and 4-4 in WNYAC action.

The Alfred State College men's basketball used a 29-0 run en route to a 87-58 victory over the JV squad from Ithaca College.  The Pioneers have won three straight and are 11-10 on the season.
