The Alfred State College football team will play on campus for the first time in program history in 2008 and the Pioneers hope to make some noise in the Northeast Football Conference. The 2008-09 Alfred State College athletic season kicks off this week as preseason camps open in preparation for the fall seasons. Football, volleyball, men's & women's soccer, and baseball will all report to campus and begin practice by Sunday while the cross country team will begin practicing on Tuesday.

Alfred State College sophomore football players John Chisolm (Trenton, NJ) and Mike Septh (Monroe Woodbury) have been named NJCAA All-Americans. Chisolm was named a second team defensive back while Septh was named an honorable mention wide receiver.
