Colton Caldwell (Dublin, OH) was named Co-Offensive player of the year while Sammy Diaz (Dansville), Dileel Bartley (Rochester/Edison) and Erik Simmons (Elmira Free) were all named to the All-Region offensive team. Ognibene was 4-2 at the Ursinus Fall Brawl over the weekend. He opened the day with a 7-0 victory over Brett Ackerley (Delaware Valley). He fell in his next match but rebounded with three straight consolation bracket victories; 2-0 over Matt Jorgensen (Delaware Valley), a pin of Jacob Sentz (Stevens), and a 6-1 win over Steven Paul (Elizabethtown).
Special teams and turnovers played a huge part as Alfred State defeated Hudson Valley CC 30-24 to close out the 2012 season. The win improves the Pioneers to 5-4 and secures the program's eighth .500 or better season during Head Coach Mick Caba's tenure.

Fanning led the Lady Pioneers to a 3-0 record and the title at the SUNY Delhi Tournament. She averaged 17.7 points per game and 6.3 rebounds. She had 10 points and 13 rebounds vs. Broome CC, 17 points and seven rebounds vs. Sullivan County, and 23 points and seven rebounds vs.

Alfred State Football coach Mick Caba is part of the 2012 NJCAA Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame Class. Caba, in his 13th season at the helm of the Pioneer football program is joined in the class by Terrence Cody (defensive linemen from Mississippi Gulf Coast CC) and the 1983 Coffeyville CC football team.
