Women ranked #6, Men #7 in Cross Country Poll

The Alfred State College cross country team is represented on both the latest NJCAA Division III polls.  The women's team is currently ranked #6 while the men are ranked #7.
The Alfred State College cross country team is represented on both the latest NJCAA Division III polls.  The women's team is currently ranked #6 while the men are ranked #7.

The Pioneers have competed in scrimmages the past two weekends and will open up their regular season on Saturday when they host the ASC Invitational.  #3 Erie CC and #8 Finger Lakes CC are scheduled to compete while the #10 Broome CC will run on the men's side.

SUNY Cobleskill is ranked #1 on the women's side while SUNY Delhi holds the top spot on the men's side.

Friendly 5K Helps Restock Local Food Pantry

The Alfred State College cross country team helped restock the Alfred-Almond food pantry by hosting the 3rd annual Friendly 5K.  Six local high school teams took on the newly redesigned course at Alfred State

The Alfred State College cross country team helped re-stock the Alfred-Almond food pantry by hosting the 3rd annual Friendly 5K on Tuesday morning.  Each of the nearly 100 runners brought a food item to be donated.

Runners from Hornell, Bath, Canisteo-Greenwood, Cuba Rushford, Addison, and Arkport participated in the scrimmage in preparation for their upcoming seasons.   Prizes were given randomly to the runners.

Cross Country raises $1,000 for Cancer Society

The Alfred State College cross country team started preseason practice in an unusual way to celebrate the college's Centennial.  The 17 members of the 2007 squad along with Head Coach Gary Moore and Assistant Coach Jeremiah Bailey participated in a 130 mile relay run that took them from Lockport to Alfred and raised $1,000 for the American Cancer Society.

199 athletes representing 28 different NJCAA Division III cross country programs competed in the mud at Alfred State at the 2006 National Championships.  Gloucester (NJ) County College won their first ever National title on the women&#39;s side while SUNY Delhi won the men&#39;s title for the third straight year.
