Introducing ME!

Hey! My name is Dennis Billings. I've been a student at Alfred State since the Fall of 2007. Time has flown by; I can’t believe it’s been that long… It has been great! I began in the Engineering Science curriculum for my first year, and then I decided that just wasn’t for me. So after talking to my advisor and the Admissions office I became a Marketing student. I loved it!!! As of last semester I finally received my AAS in Marketing! I’ve since decided to enter the Bachelors program in Business Administration. It is just as enticing as my marketing program, very demanding but well worth it.

Other than academics I’ve done my best to be involved in extracurricular; since we have soooo many I don’t see how you wouldn’t find something you enjoy. MY latest passion is Drama Club! In September of 2008 I was the lead in the Musical “A New Brain.” It was one heck of an experience! Almost unexplainable! Since then I have taken over the position of Treasurer for Drama Club. This is just as exciting, learning how to manage and budget about $3,600 is quite a task.  Since then our club has performed “Picasso at the Lapin Agile” the play and “Urinetown: The Musical.” This semester we have plan on soon performing “Extremities” on Feb 19-20. Also, we will be performing Shakespeare’s play “The Taming of The Shrew” in April. I am excited to say I have the male lead Petruchio! I’m very excited and I can’t wait to begin rehearsal.

I am also a member of BPA; that is Business Professionals of America. I’m Historian. So far this semester I have set up for a ASC Alumnus to come in and give a Marketing Talk, and I am currently working on getting a International Business Professional to come in and give a talk on what it is like to work internationally. Our club also has planned a Dinner with Models. At this event we bring in speakers and perform skits on how to be professional. Normally it is based around attire, body language, speech, and overall appearance.

Well that’s about it for now, but don’t worry there’s always something exciting going on at Alfred!
