George Porter has been around wrestling mats in the southern tier for the past twenty years. He has been at the helm of the program for the past eight seasons and with the program the past nine seasons.

In his eight years as head coach the Pioneers have an 23-38-1 dual meet record, have had 34 wrestlers compete at the NJCAA National Championships, and had five wrestlers named All-American. Porter also was named Region III Coach of the Year during the 2005-06 season.

Porter is a retiree from Dresser-Rand. He and his wife Pat live in Hornell.
