The Pioneers wrestling program has grown into a Region III championship contender year after year. The Pioneers have finished as the Region III runner-ups two of the past four years and have won two WNYAC championships in the past five years.
During the 2008-09 season, the Pioneers had three wrestlers qualify for the NJCAA National Championships. Two wrestlers earned All-Region and six were named All-WNYAC. The Pioneers finished 13th overall in the nation in non-scholarship competition.

The Alfred State College wrestling team fell 45-6 to Niagara CCC in their regular season finale on Sunday. The Pioneers were 2-4 in the matches wrestled but gave away points with four forfeits.
The Alfred State College Wrestling team rallied from a 24-13 deficit with victories in the final three matches to earn a 28-24 win over Mercyhurst North East. The Pioneers improve to 2-3-1 overall and 2-2-1 in WNYAC action.
Cody Dill (Unatego) and Taylor Nelson (Somers) earned 3rd place finishes as the Alfred State College wrestling team competed at the Jamestown CC Open on Saturday.
