Wrestling
The Pioneers wrestling program has grown into a Region III championship contender year after year. The Pioneers have finished as the Region III runner-ups twice in the past six years and have won two WNYAC championships in the past seven years.
During the 2010-11 season, the Pioneers had five wrestlers qualify for the NJCAA National Championships. Three wrestlers earned All-Region and threewere named All-WNYAC. Tyler Peet earned All-American honors with a 6th place finish as the team finished 29th overall at Nationals.

Mercyhurst North East won the final four matches of the evening as they defeated Alfred State 38-15 in the Pioneers final home dual of the season. Alfred is now 4-4 (1-4 WNYAC) on the season in dual action while Mercyhurst is now 5-6 (5-1 WNYAC).
Women's basketball player Amie Brooks (Pavilion) and wrestler Justin Hunt (Ripley) have been named the Alfred State athletes of the week by the SID office.
Justin Hunt (Ripley) won the 141 lb. weight class to lead the Alfred State wrestling team at the annual Jamestown Open. Tyler Peet (Unadilla Valley) also placed, earning a 2nd place finish at 149 lbs.
