Wrestling
The Pioneers wrestling program has grown into a Region III championship contender year after year. The Pioneers have finished as the Region III runner-ups two of the past five years and have won two WNYAC championships in the past six years.
During the 2009-10 season, the Pioneers had five wrestlers qualify for the NJCAA National Championships. Two wrestlers earned All-Region and two were named All-WNYAC. The Pioneers finished 14th overall in the nation in non-scholarship competition.

Alfred State College wrestler Eric Shedden (Canton, PA) was named the NJCAA recipient of the SUNY Chancellor's Award for Student Athletes. Shedden is the 14th ASC recipient of the award since its inception in 2004.
The Alfred State College athletic department presented their annual end-of-year athletic awards during a ceremony held at the Lake Lodge on May 3rd. The athlete of the year, sportsmanship, leadership, academic, and William Havens awards were presented.
Alfred State College sophomore wrestlers Eric Shedden (Canton, PA) and TJ Nelson (Somers) have been named All-Region and All-WNYAC. Shedden and Nelson helped the Pioneers to a 5th place finish at the Northeast Districts.
