Gina Boyd has brought a winning tradition to the women’s basketball program at Alfred State College. In her nineteen years as head coach she has a career record of 287-199 (.591 winning %) and has led the Lady Pioneers to fifteen of the last sixteen Region III Final Fours.
During her coaching career at Alfred State, Boyd has been named Coach of the Year five times, was the recipient of the William Havens Award twice, and has been included in the Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers twice. She also has coached four NJCAA All-Americans (Brittney Brooks in 2008-09).
Prior to starting her coaching career, Boyd was a star athlete in basketball and softball at Waterloo High School, Cayuga Community College, and SUNY Cortland. Boyd was inducted to the Waterloo High School Hall of Fame in 1996.
In addition to her coaching duties, Boyd is the coordinator of physical education, teaches in the department, and also serves as the director of the Learn-to-Swim Program during ASC’s annual Summer Sports Festival.
