Women's Basketball

Brooks with the lay-upThe women's basketball program continues to be near the top of Region III and Division II of the NJCAA year after year. The Lady Pioneers have made appearances in the Region III Division II Final Four in sixteen of the past eighteen years.

In 2010-11, the Lady Pioneers finished 14-14 and advanced to the Regional Final Four. Two players were named All-Region and three were named All-WNYAC.

Jamestown Sneaks Past Lady Pioneers

The Alfred State women's basketball team played another tight Region III Division II contest and fell 57-54 at Jamestown CC on Thursday.  The Lady Pioneers are now 10-8 overall and 1-3 in RIII DII action.

Brooks and Hunt Named Athletes of the Week

Women's basketball player Amie Brooks (Pavilion) and wrestler Justin Hunt (Ripley) have been named the Alfred State athletes of the week by the SID office.

Lady Pioneers Drop Heartbreaker

Mercyhurst North East connected on four of six foul shots in the final two minutes as they broke a 60-60 tie to earn a 64-60 win over Alfred State on Saturday. The contest featured five ties and seven lead changes.
