Christina Loder dribbles past a defenderThe women's basketball program continues to be near the top of Region III and Division II of the NJCAA year after year. The Lady Pioneers have appearances in the Region III Division II Final Four in fifteen of the past sixteen years.

In 2008-09, the Lady Pioneers finished 10-14 and had one player named NJCAA All-American, one named Region III Division II player of the year, two named All-Region, and two named All-WNYAC.

Recently the Alfred State College athletic department handed out the 2008-09 athletic awards at a ceremony held at the Lake Lodge.

Brittney BrooksAlfred State College women's basketball player Brittney Brooks (Elmira Free) has been named a third team NJCAA All-American.  This is the third straight year a Lady Pioneer has earned All-American honors.

Alfred State College sophomore Brittney Brooks (Elmira Free) has been named the Region III Division II Player of the Year.  Her teammate and cousin Sherelle Brooks (Elmira Free) was also honored with a honorable All-Region selection.  Brittney Brooks becomes the second straight Lady Pioneer to earn the player of the year honor (Anthia Smith - 2008).
