During his tenure at Alfred State, Gary Moore has developed and maintained one of the best Track and Field programs in the nation. 

In 2012, both the men finished 3rd and the women 4th at the Outdoor National Championships held at ASC.  In total, the track and field program produced 12 All-Americans and 13 All-Region athletes.

Other top seasons include: The men’s outdoor team was National Champion in 2000, National Runner-Ups in 2001 and 2002, and finished in 2011.  The women’s outdoor team won the National Championship in 2007, finished 3rd at Nationals in 2000 and in 2003, and 4th in 2004 and 2011. The women’s indoor team won the Region III Championship in 2004 while the men won the Region III Championship in 2002, 2006, and 2007 and was 2nd in the 2006.

Coach Moore has done this while competing in one of the toughest regions in the country.

Moore earned an Associate Degree from Alfred State, a Bachelor Degree from SUNY Brockport, and a Masters Degree from Southern Mississippi. While at Brockport, Moore participated in the NCAA National Track and Field Championships and currently still participates in road races along with coaching the Alfred-Almond Track Club.

Numerous members of Moore’s team have received accolades and have moved on to NCAA competition.

Moore lives in Geneseo with his wife Mary.
