Track & Field
The indoor and outdoor track & field programs at Alfred State are competing year after year for Regional Championships and continuing to place high in NJCAA National competition.
In 2011, the women's outdoor track and field team was the Region III Champion while the men and women were both runner-up at the indoor championships. At Outdoor Nationals held at Alfred State, both the men and women finished 4th in the nation. At Indoor Nationals the women finished 24th and the men finished 26th.
In total, the track and field program produced fifteen All-Americans and 26 All-Region athletes.
Alfred State hosted the 2011 NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships and will host the same event again in 2012.

The Alfred State indoor track & field team had numerous performance improvements at the two-day Bucknell Open. The Pioneers were the lone two-year college in the 16 team field.
Indoor track & field athletes Tara Murphy (Rochester/Wilson) and David Miller (Elmira Southside) have been named the Alfred State Athletes of the Week. Murphy and Miller have had solid showings in the Pioneers first two meets of the season.
The Alfred State College indoor track & field team competed in Geneva, OH at the SPIRE North Coast Open on Saturday. Tara Murphy (Rochester/Wilson) qualified for the NJCAA National Championships with a strong performance in the 800 m.
