Track & Field

SteeplechaseThe indoor and outdoor track & field programs at Alfred State are competing year after year for Regional Championships and continuing to place high in NJCAA National competition.

In 2012, the men's outdoor team was 2nd at the Region III Championships and 3rd overall at the National Championships.  This followed an indoor season in which the team was 3rd at Regional. 

On the women's side the Lady Pioneers were 3rd at Indoor Regionals and 4th at Outdoor Regionals.  At Nationals, the team placed 4th in the outdoor competition and 37th at Indoors.

Numerous records were broken by both the men's and women's teams.

In total, the track and field program produced 12 All-Americans and 13 All-Region athletes.

Numerous Pioneers etched their way into the Alfred State record book as the team opened up the 2013 at the Brockport Golden Eagle Invitational.

Athletic Department Announces 2012 Hall of Fame Class

The Alfred State athletic department will induct five new members into the hall of fame during 2012 Homecoming/Family Weekend festivities. Longtime athletic director Kathy Feldman, basketball player Larry Mulcahy, softball player Jodie Corsi, cross country & track and field athlete David Dominguez, and pole vaulter Kurt Dunn will join the Hall of Fame on October 12th.

Dorsey Named WNYAC Senior Athlete of Year

Briana Dorsey (Rochester/School of the Arts) was recently named the Western New York Athletic Conference Senior Female Athlete of the Year. Dorsey was honored along with Genesee CC lacrosse player Connor Lattimer.
