National ChampsThe indoor and outdoor track & field programs at Alfred State are competing year after year for Regional Championships and continuing to place high in NJCAA National competition.

In 2010, the men's indoor track and field team finished 3rd in the region while the women were 4th.  During the outdoor season each team earned 4th place finishes at regionals.  At outdoor nationals the men finished 9th overall while the women were tied for 10th.

In total, the track and field program produced five All-Americans and 13 All-Region athletes.

Alfred State will be the host of the NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships in 2011 and 2012.

Two Alfred State College track & field athletes placed at the 2010 Empire State Games in Buffalo.  Pioneer alum Andy Omoregie (Gates Chili) won a gold medal while incoming freshman Byron Jones (Niagara Falls) won a silver.

Nine athletes with ties to the Alfred State College track and field teams will compete this week at the Empire State Games.  The 2010 Summer Games will be held in Buffalo with most of the track events taking place at the University of Buffalo.

Alfred State's Carey Crooker (Addison) and Masanari Yamamoto (Tokyo, Japan) were honored by the Western New York Athletic Conference at the annual athletic director's meeting.  Crooker was named the co-freshman athlete of the year while Yamamoto was named the academic male athlete of the year.
