Mychack ButterflyThe Alfred State swimming program has been climbing up the ranks of Region III and the NJCAA each season. 

The men's team won the NJCAA non-scholarship National Championship in 2008, finished second in the non-scholarship rankings in 2009, and has been Region III runner-up the past three of the past four seasons. 

The women's team continues to improve.  In 2008, the Lady Pioneers were 3rd at the Regional Championships. 

During the 2009-10 season, both the men and women finished 14th overall at nationals.  The men were 4th in Region III while the women were 5th.  Two Pioneers earned All-Region honors.

The Alfred State College athletic department presented their annual end-of-year athletic awards during a ceremony held at the Lake Lodge on May 3rd.  The athlete of the year, sportsmanship, leadership, academic, and William Havens awards were presented.

Both the men's and women's Alfred State College swim teams finished 14th at the NJCAA National Championships held at Indian River State College in Fort Pierce, FL. The men scored 40 points in the four day competition while the women scored 7.

After day three of the NJCAA Swimming National Championships the Alfred State College men's swim team sits in 12th while the women are 15th.  The championships being held at Indian River State College in Fort Pierce, FL conclude on Saturday.
