Amanda Theleman Takes A Big Cut The Lady Pioneers softball team is aiming for a spot in the Region III Division III Tournament year after year. Alfred was ranked in the top five in the country in 2007 and has qualified for the Regional Tournament three times in the past nine seasons.

In 2009, the Lady Pioneers won three more games than in 2008 and finished 13-23. One player was named All-WNYAC.

Pioneers Earn Academic Honors

Twenty Alfred State College student athletes have been honored with academic awards. Eleven Pioneers were named NJCAA Academic All-American, 13 were named Academic All-Region, and 20 were named Academic All Conference.

Loder Named All-WNYAC

Alfred State College outfielder Christina Loder (Brantford, ONT) has been named to the All-WNYAC 2nd team. Loder started in left field in all 36 games for the 13-23 Lady Pioneers.

Athletic Department Hands out End of Year Awards

Recently the Alfred State College athletic department handed out the 2008-09 athletic awards at a ceremony held at the Lake Lodge.
