The Alfred State College Basketball team has become one of the hardest working teams in Region III. The Pioneers have won more than 16 games the past five seasons and have made five straight trips to the Region III Division II Tournament.
The 2008-09 squad finished the season with a 17-14 mark and won the program's first postseason game in over ten years. Two players were named All-Region and three were named All-WNYAC.

The Alfred State College men's basketball team held off a second half rally by SUNY Orange and escaped with a 61-57 victory. The Pioneers snap a three game slide and improve to 3-4 on the year.
Cuyahoga (OH) CC used a 20 to 5 run in the second half to break a 42-42 tie en route to a 71-62 victory over Alfred State on Thursday evening. The Pioneers are now 2-4 on the year.
