The Alfred State athletic training department has a philosophy which is committed to patient care, education, and research.

The athletic training department is an important part of the health care team and the staff provides services that are a necessity to the quality of health care of the student-athlete population. A certified athletic trainer is a highly-educated and skilled professional specializing in athletic health care. Certified athletic trainers have fulfilled the requirements for certification established by the National Athletic Trainers' Association Board of Certification, Inc. (NATABOC).

Athletic Training Services

A student-athlete is required to report any injury/illness to the athletic trainer immediately. Each injury is documented and kept on file in the athletic training room. If the athletic trainer determines there is a need for further medical evaluation, the athletic trainer will establish this appointment for you.

The Alfred State athletic training staff provides sports medicine services to student-athletes only. The services provided include, but are not limited to, prevention of athletic injuries, recognition, evaluation and treatment of athletic injuries, rehabilitation and reconditioning of athletic injures and health and wellness education.
