Merritt Makes the SaveThe lacrosse program at Alfred State has been near the top of Region III and the NJCAA for the past decade.  The program has made eight trips to the Regional Tournament in the past nine years and eight Pioneers have earned NJCAA All-American honors.

The 2009 Pioneers finished 10-4 and ranked #9 in the NJCAA poll.  Five Pioneers were honored with All-Region selections while six players were named All-WNYAC.

Alfred State College men’s soccer and lacrosse coach Todd Weil has resigned from his position in the athletic department.  Weil has spent the past four seasons at the helm of the lacrosse program and the last three seasons guiding the men’s soccer team.

Six members of the Alfred State College lacrosse team have been named All-WNYAC.  Ryan Grogan (Churchville), Josh Mateo (Waterloo), and Mitch Mertel (Churchville) were 1st team selections while William Ardolino (William Floyd), Tony Micelotta (Irondequoit) and Ryan Speciale (Corning West) were named 2nd team.

Five members of the Alfred State College lacrosse team have earned All-Region honors following the Pioneers 10-4 season.  Josh Mateo (Waterloo) and Mitch Mertel (Churchville) were second team selections while Ryan Grogan (Churchville), Ryan Speciale (Corning West), and Marshall Merritt (Marcellus) were named honorable mention.
