The Alfred State football program has proven itself as a contender in the very competitive Northeast Football Conference. The Pioneers have finished .500 or above in five of the past ten seasons.
In 2009, the Pioneers played an exciting and competitive brand of football. The team earned a 5-5 record including a 3-2 mark at home on the college's on-campus field.

Sir Aaron Taylor (West Chester/Lincoln Hall) returned the opening kickoff of the second half 86-yards for a score to break a 7-7 tie and lead Alfred State to a 22-7 victory over the Apprentice School (Newport News, VA) in their 2010 season opener.
Sophomore offensive linemen Drew Hammond (Walton/Walton) took time and answered some questions from the Sports Information Department as the Alfred State College football team prepares for their 2010 season opener on Saturday. ASC takes on the Apprentice School (Newport News, VA) on 9/4 with opening kickoff at 11 a.m. at Pioneer Stadium.
The 2010 Alfred State College football team will have feature new faces, a redesigned schedule, and a new look as they hope to climb above .500 for the first time since the 2006 season.
