Mark Ciccotti delivers the pitchThe Alfred State College baseball team continues to be one of the most successful programs in Region III. The Pioneers have accumulated over 40 victories in a school year in ten of the last thirteen years.

In 2008-09, the Pioneers had a 32-26 mark. The team had six players named All-Region and six players earn All-WNYAC honors.

Seven members of the Alfred State College baseball team have earned All-WNYAC honors following the Pioneers 8-6 fall season.  Mark Ciccotti (Horseheads) and Jake Dale (Keshequa) were 1st team selections, Kyle Barkley (Penn Yan) and Brian Zimmermann (Frontier) earned 2nd team honors, and Steve Smith (Hornell), JP Frey (Erie, PA), and Brian Ervay (Elmira Southside) were on the honorable mention team.

The Alfred State College baseball team could not overcome an early 4-0 deficit and stranded the tying run in scoring position in the 9th in a 4-3 loss to Monroe CC.  The Tribunes advance to the WNYAC finals while the Pioneers finish the fall season with a 8-6 mark.

The Alfred State College baseball team scored two runs in the bottom of the 8th en route to a 3-2 victory over Niagara CCC in a WNYAC first round match-up played on the turf at Bolivar Richburg High School.  The Pioneers advance to the final four to be played Saturday at Dwyer Stadium in Batavia.
