Athletic Facilities

Alfred State is very proud of the athletic facilities it has to offer students.

The Orvis Activities Center is the hub of Pioneer athletics.  It houses all of the coaches offices, the gymnasium, the swimming pool, the wrestling room, the training room, the fitness center, and locker room facilities.

The Orvis Activities Center gymnasium is home for Pioneer basketball, volleyball, and wrestling events.  It also hosts intramural competition in the winter and physical education classes.

The swimming pool is also located in Orvis.  It is home to the Pioneer swim team.  Open swimming is available to students and the community on a daily basis.

The fitness center, located in the bottom floor of Orvis, is one of the busiest places on campus.  Open seven days a week during the school year, the fitness center has all the necessary machines, free weights, and cardio equipment to meet any member's needs.

Pioneer athletes are cared for in the athletic training room.  Located in between the locker rooms, the training room is staffed by a full-time certified athletic trainer.  In the training room, athletes can receive treatment and rehab for their injuries.

A new turf athletic complex highlights the outdoor athletic facilities.  The new complex opened in the Spring of 2008 and is the new home for Pioneer football, soccer, lacrosse, and track & field.  The lighted facility features field turf, an eight lane track, bleachers, and a press box.

Above the athletic complex sits the baseball field, the softball field, and practice fields for football, soccer, and lacrosse.

The baseball field and softball field were completed in the Summer of 2003.  The fields have quickly become two of the top facilities in the area.
