The Panthers got on the board first when Kyle Clapper got his knee on a crossing pass from Jean-Piere Rosas with 8:30 remaining in the first half. TCCC held a 5 to 1 advantage on shots in the first half.
Jeremy Nantka (Lancaster) knotted the game up 14 minutes into the second half when he was able to connect on a pass from Dominic Bisone (Tonawanda). TCCC once again out-shot ASC in the second, 7 to 4.

The Alfred State College cross country team helped re-stock the Alfred-Almond food pantry by hosting the 3rd annual Friendly 5K on Tuesday morning. Each of the nearly 100 runners brought a food item to be donated.
Runners from Hornell, Bath, Canisteo-Greenwood, Cuba Rushford, Addison, and Arkport participated in the scrimmage in preparation for their upcoming seasons. Prizes were given randomly to the runners.

Shortstop Jose Sanchez (Tachira, Venezuela) has been named a NJCAA Division II 1st team All-American. Sanchez is the third Pioneer ever to be named 1st team All-American and the fifth baseball player to be named All-American.

A new era of Alfred State College athletics will begin this fall as the Pioneers will have a brand new on-campus facility that will be the new home for football, soccer, lacrosse, and track & field. Work started on the complex a few weeks back but the grounds were officially broken in a ceremony held on Friday.

Lacrosse players Jeremiah Bova (Salamanca) and Mitch Wensel (Corning East) have added another recognition to their freshmen campaigns. Both Bova and Wensel were named to the All-Western New York Athletic Conference team.

Bova appeared in net in all ten games for the Blue and Gold and made nine starts. He logged 476 minutes, made 192 saves, and finished with a save percentage of 66%.
Nichole Tyler (Spencer Van Etten) and Becky Waters (Elmira Heights) have been selected to represent Alfred State on the All-Western New York Athletic Conference team. Tyler was named a 1st team infielder while Waters was named to the 2nd team.

Tyler led the Lady Pioneers with a .398 batting average (33 for 83). She collected three doubles, two triples, and two home runs. She scored 23 runs, drove in 23 runs, and stole seven bases.
